Day 2/366 – Dustin takes his Nike Free’s off the track and into the canyons.

My quest for grey jeans brought me in to Urban Outfitters on 23rd street today. I approached the dressing room and instantly noticed what the gentleman had on a his feet – a pair of worn Nike Free’s that must have a story… So, I gave the grey jeans a try and asked if his shoes would like to be featured on my blog today. He said yes!

Dustin moved to Portland from San Luis Obispo a year ago. He purchased his Nike Free’s in a small sneaker shop (name unknown) in Northern California during a Black Friday sale before his move. COOLEST ADVENTURE IN THOSE SHOES? A 3 week backpacking trip around canyons, through rivers and over mountains near Zion National Park in Utah. He said they are super comfortable and light – no problems with traction when stepping on slippery rocks. A friend tried them on during their backpacking trip and was super envious (he wore the traditional canyoneering shoes).

So, the moral of the story is – feel free to rock Nike Free’s in the rocks. Thanks again Dustin!

  1. I’m glad you’re still doing this, and that I could be the first shoe stranger you met. Keep going!
