Day 23/366 – Justin’s Cole Haan Henry Medallion Saddle Oxford’s [classic style, modern edge]

Name: Justin

Born: Landstuhl, Germany / Now residing in: Portland, Oregon

Favorite quote: “The hardest day was yesterday.”

Favorite sport: Soccer. Justin has been playing for 20 years or so. He currently coaches the Girl’s High School Varsity Team at Sunset High School. What is it about soccer? “It challenges an athlete on all levels; ex: conditioning and mental awareness. Everybody on the team counts.”

What kicks are in your closet? Sneakers (Nike Dunk High’s are his fav’s because of the boot look), soccer cleats (he owns roughly 20 pairs) and an assortment of Cole Haan’s.

Kicks on his feet: Cole Haan Henry Medallion Saddle Oxford’sPurchased in Spring 2011. He loves how he can dress them up or be casual with them too. The sole is made of recycled rubber; it lasts longer than a leather sole and offers extra traction on Portland’s slippery streets. He likes to switch the laces up every once in a while too…

Next up? Cole Haan Air Colton Saddle’s in Ashley Blue Grain/Lime Green Suede (pictured on the left).

If you could spend a day with anyone, who would it be? Pele (great soccer player for Brazil; now an entrepreneur) and Glenn O’brien (“The Style Guy” at GQ magazine). He chooses, oversees and seeks out what’s hot; whether its footwear or hats. Justin is a fan of his choices of sneakers with certain get ups. Glenn offers great tips and responds to reader’s questions all the time…

Check out Justin’s blogs:

  • The Shoe Dentist of Portland. He shows how it takes a couple minutes, a few supplies and a bit of patience to flip your shoes from good to great.
  • People of Portland. A picture can mean a thousand things: a summer romance, best friend’s pastime, a new ride, reunited, amazing weather, killing time…
