Day 54/366 – Louis is a proud owner of the Nike Zoom KD IV’s from the “Black History Month” collection.
Hometown: Chicago / Currently residing in: Portland, OR.
Graduated from: Columbia College in Chicago with a Bachelors in Theater Arts.
Louis’ passion for sneakers started at an early age. His best friend’s older brother had quite an extensive sneaker collection. “He had stacks of shoes in his bedroom. I would often venture in there to see what he had. I always said to himself, One day, I’ll have shoes like my best friend’s older brother.” Today, Louis owns roughly 250-275 sneakers; 90% in their original boxes! His favorites are the Air Max 1’s, Air Force 1’s and the Air Jordan III’s. He is on the look-out for the Nike Air Max 1 Patta’s (pictured to the left) in a size 11.5. 🙂

Louis received these as a gift; he’s only worn them once. They are special because he is a Kevin Durant fan and wanted to support Black History Month. Louis loves the silhouette of these sneakers and is impressed by the variety of colors, graphics and details used throughout.
For those not in the know (via Nike Insider): Celebrating the 36th anniversary of Black History Month, Nike Sportswear and Nike Basketball released limited-edition footwear and apparel that celebrates the achievements and pioneering spirit of three teams: the 1996 USA Basketball Women’s team, 2002 Brazil Men’s Soccer team and the 2008 Kenyan Long-Distance Running team. All three leave a legacy of greatness and continue to inspire and uplift their communities. Below is a snapshot of the footwear collection – Louis’ kicks are pictured 2nd from the right.
