Day 59/366 – Don explores in his Nike Free’s as the Yelp Community Director of Portland.

Name: Don

Originally from: Seattle, WA / Currently residing in: Portland, OR

Graduated from: University of Washington (Political Science), University of Oregon (Political Science, International Relations) and Lewis & Clark Law School (Law).

Don is the Yelp Community Director for Portland! He is responsible for growing the Yelp user community in the city, undertaking large-scale marketing (both traditional and viral) projects, handling public relations and media duties for the region, writing a weekly regional newsletter and interfacing with local and regional businesses. Check out Don’s Yelp profile; he’s made 1299 reviews, submitted 577 local photos and submitted 774 events. Talk about someone in the know.

Kicks on Don’s feet: Nike Free Run+ 2 in Treasure Blue/White.

Don was grateful to find these kicks in his size (12) at the Nike employee store back in December. He feels that shoes are both a utility and fashion accessory – he tends to wear subtle clothing with shoes that pop. Comfort is extremely important since he’s out and about all day long. Don has a closet full of shoes and he wears them all for a variety of occasions. For example, he owns 3 green pairs of kicks (Go Ducks!) and 2 pairs of Nike Air Max’s (his go to kicks for running because of the extra support).

Where would you eat if today was your last day in Portland?

Morning coffee: Coava Coffee Roasters.

Breakfast: Tasty n Sons.

Lunch: Boke Bowl or Bunk Sandwiches.

Dinner: Le Pigeon.

Dessert: Pix Patisserie.

If not Portland, where would you live? “Seattle or San Francisco. Maybe Melbourne. I’ve heard it’s the Portland of Australia.”

Thanks for sharing your expertise with us, Don! After our chat, I added a little artwork to the bathroom door at Coffeehouse Northwest. 🙂 Boom.
