Day 299+300/366 – “They always smell good. It’s like a new TV!” explains Jim Kasserman.
Name: Jim Kasserman
Hometown: Gresham, OR ♦ Living in: Portland, OR
Education: Social Science at Concordia.
Occupation: Athlete II at NIKE.
Jim’s passion? SNOWBOARDING! He started at age 14. He loves that you can do whatever you want up there with the company of great friends. You can go hard or just mozzy downhill. His signature trick? The beef curtain – both hands simultaneously grab the heelside edge of the board between the bindings. Favorite place to hit the slopes in Oregon? Timberline Lodge.
Jim is the founder, owner and operator of a mobile snowboard rental shop called iRide Boardshop. Check out and LIKE their Facebook page! They provide a convenient alternative for renting snowboards in the greater Portland area. They offer multiple delivery and pickup options, a rent-to-own snowboard service and free outwear rental (with snowboard rental). Their goal is to see ALL riders get up to the mountain with ease and at a cost that isn’t going to empty your pocket! Snowboards and their equipment retain their integrity for much longer than most of us expect and at iRide, they try to get snowboards into the hands of people that will make the best use of them!
Kicks on Jim’s feet: Nike Zoom Kaiju Snowboarding Boots – “Black Cement”
Their look is inspired by the Air Jordan Black Cement III; the boot features a Zoom Air unit, a TPU backstay, flywire, webbed lacing and Free cushioning on the outsole. In case you were curious: Kaiju means “strange beast” but translated as English as “monster.” 🙂
