Day 308/366 – Emily helped put the “Dawn” in the Nike “Dawn to Dusk Pack.”

Name: Emily Potter

Hometown: Winthrop, WA • Currently living in: Portland, OR

Education: studied Industrial Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. She focused on transportation.

Occupation: Footwear Color Designer at NIKE for North America.

Emily draws a great deal of her inspiration from the kids. For example, those waiting outside Supreme before it opens up. It’s all about the odd and quirky fashion trends. They are foretelling of what’s hot and are paving the way.

Kicks on Emily’s feet: Nike Air Force 180 “Dawn”

This sneaker represents the “Dawn” of the Nike “Dawn to Dusk Pack,” which builds on last summer’s “Basketball Never Stops” campaign and salutes hoopers who never put the ball down (additional details found via Sole Collector). Emily collaborated with the North America Product Creation team to pull this sneaker together – including colors, graphics, materials and the overall story. She holds this sneaker close and is repping it hard in Beaverton, OR as you can see!

Extra credit: many do not know that Emily was a synchronized swimmer…Junior national’s status. Snowboarding is her fortay in the winter. She frequents Wooster Collective, a site that showcases and celebrates ephemeral art placed on streets in cities around the world.

Thank you for sharing, Emily! Keep doing your [rad] thing. 🙂
