Day 339/366 – “Browsing a sneaker magazine as a kid was better than watching a movie,” claims Collin.

Name: Collin Gilbert

Born in Portland, OR; raised in Beaverton. Has lived 5 minutes from Nike all his life.

Education: Bachelor’s of Science focused on Economics, Banking & Finance from the University of Oregon.

Occupation: North America Account Service Rep for the Running specialty group @ NIKE.

Collin’s passion for kicks began in 3rd grade – thank you to his friend, Joe whose dad worked at Nike! Collin remembers playing with air sole units that Joe brought to school on a regular basis. He also remembers his favorite school project when he got to design his very own sneaker on a standard template. Collin got his first pair of Jordan’s in 5th grade – they were the maroon Air Jordan 6’s. He was hooked from that point forward and was always on everybody’s shoes (especially while watching games). Collin browsed through the Eastbay magazine on a weekly basis and marked one shoe from each page that he wanted (“it was better than watching a movie”). Today, Collin owns North of 200 pairs. 🙂

Kicks on Collin’s feet: Nike Zoom Flight 95’s.

He purchased his first pair of Zoom Flight 95’s at a sporting goods store in 7th grade. It was between these and the Air Jordan 11’s in White/Carolina Blue. Collin liked the design of the mesh hole on the tongue and the bubbles on the midsole; the sneaker also had the newest cushioning system aka Zoom Air. Unfortunately, Collin’s first pair got stolen during a camping trip while sitting on a picnic table. He had to buy another pair once re-released to rock today.

If you could have any sneaker on your desk tomorrow in a size 10, what would it be? “The Dave White x Nike Air Max 90’s!”

Thanks for sharing, Collin! 🙂
